Steps:
Remove all but one message from the Inbox. Set the mail to check every 1 minute. Log out. Log in. Send a message to the test account from an external source. Wait for auto-check. When the new message appears, select it.

Expected:
Selection should change from old message to new message on selection.

Got:
Both messages appear selected, although message pane is showing the new message.

(Limited to P3 status because it only repros if *one* message is in the inbox. Bret suggests it's possibly a dataselectionmanager issue.)
